The New Zealand Railways Staff Welfare Trust was originally established in 1958 to provide assistance and benefits to people employed within the rail industry. The Trust is registered as a Charitable Trust under the Charitable Trusts Act 1957 – Registration WN/605366.

Membership can also be made available to people who were former members of the Trust when employed in the rail industry and who meet the criteria set by the Trustees. In addition members of the Rail and Maritime Transport Unionwho are employed outside the rail industry, can also be members of the Trust.
The various benefits available to members are detailed on supporting pages of this site, as are details regarding access to holiday accommodation at various locations throughout New Zealand. Any person wishing to become a member can, through this site, send an application including personal details to the Trust for consideration.
